Running Back to the Farm

Running Back to the Farm

Pennings Farm Cidery and the Rashad Jennings Foundation are proud to announce Running Back to the Farm, an all ages event positioned to raise money for underprivileged youth literacy, mentorship and health & fitness programs. Former NY Giants Running Back, Rashad Jennings, teams up with the Pennings farm family to produce this celebrity inspired event on August 10, 2-7PM.

Running Back to the Farm is all about raising money for a cause that is near and dear to Rashad Jennings. Jennings was an average kid, of above average weight, with below average grades, with what were considered unattainable dreams of becoming an NFL Running Back. Jennings was given a break not many receive, when he was inspired through education, provided direction to reach success and encouraged to adopt health and fitness as a way of life. He proved his doubters wrong when he stepped onto the turf as a NY Giants Running Back from 2014 -2017, reigned champion on Dancing with the Stars Season 24 and became a published author, proving his strengths as an athlete, team-player and scholar.
The Rashad Jennings Foundation is Jennings current playbook used to create possibilities for young dreamers to reach their goals just as he did. Through the foundation, and the Running Back to the Farm event, Jennings takes on a similar role to that of a running back when he receives ‘handoffs’ of monetary contributions to be used to inspire youth nationwide to blitz in the face of adversity. Pennings Farm Cidery aligns itself with the Rashad Jennings philosophy of mentoring and encouraging youth to strive for personal success.

The day is packed with live music, delicious food truck eats, a selection of Pennings Farm Cidery’s own hard cider, New York State craft beer, wine and specialty cocktails, silent auctions and fun activities for all ages.

Henry Diltz | Behind the Lens

The official Woodstock ’69 photographer shares five decades of his rock & roll photos and the stories behind them. Spend a special summer evening under the stars with Henry Diltz!

Enjoying a night on the hillside behind the Pennings Farm Cidery, you will view a slide show like no other. Multiple large LED screens will display crisp imagery, and a sound system will be set up so that, no matter where you sit, everyone will have a total audio/visual experience.

During this special event, Henry showcases some of his most iconic rock & roll photographs and the compelling stories behind them. The presentation will include an exclusive selection of photos from the ’69 Woodstock festival, which Henry is curating especially for the Pennings audience.

In the world of rock photographers, there are none as extraordinary as Henry Diltz. Catch a personal viewing of Diltz’s renowned photography that graced hundreds of album covers; has been featured in magazines, newspapers and books; is on exhibit in his Morrison Hotel Gallery, and captured the unbridled vibe of Woodstock in powerful photographic essays.

There’s no better time to meet Diltz and see his legendary work than during the summer of the 50th Anniversary of Woodstock!

Henry was the only official Woodstock photographer hired by Michael Lang, the festival organizer. Since then, Henry has become a visual historian of the last five decades of popular music, working with The Doors, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Jimi Hendrix, Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Browne, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Eagles, Paul McCartney, Rolling Stones, America and scores of other legendary artists.

The rapport Henry has developed with his musician friends, along with his down-to-earth grin and frequent laugh, enables him to capture the candid shots that convey a rare feeling of trust and intimacy with his subjects. You will remember his captivating stories for a long time to come!

Henry’s high quality SIGNED photo prints will be available for sale at the venue. CASH ONLY FOR PHOTO SALES.

“This is not history, this is evidence!” - Glenn Frey, Eagles

“I’m the drummer, you’re the photographer, it’s as simple as that.” - Ringo Starr

Koncept Coming Home Show

Keith Michael Whitehead, popularly known by his stage name of KONCEPT, is an American rapper, emcee and songwriter who is a graduate of Warwick Valley High School in Warwick, NY. KONCEPT will perform at Pennings Farm Cidery on Friday, July 13 at 10:00pm. Tickets are $10 at the door (doors open at 4pm.)

KONCEPT has a long history in the music industry breaking into the business at Fat Beats Records in New York City. His first album, Awaken, was discovered shortly after by Red Bull, resulting in the release of “The Fuel,” recorded at Red Bull Studios in Los Angeles. MTV aired two music videos from “The Fuel” and the lead single from this album hit #1 on College Radio and received global praise.

In 2016, KONCEPT followed a calling by Miller & Jameson Whiskey to go on a two-week tour of Seoul, South Korea. An immediate partnership with Sony Music Asia led him to extend his stay in Korea to two years! During this time, KONCEPT released his latest album worldwide, “14 Hours Ahead,” which not only signifies the time difference between Asia and his home town of New York, but also reflects how he envisions his future and his dreams and how he manifests them into reality.

Having the typical teenage experiences of many who grew up in Warwick, NY, Whitehead worked at Pennings Farm which makes him feel strong roots with the business, it’s owners and staff. This will be his second performance at Pennings Farm with his 2016 show at Pennings Farm Market just before he left for Korea.
